It’s 2021 and despite all the progress we’ve made, our society still struggles with social injustice, discrimination and sexism.

The subject of female objectification, in particular, was occupying my thoughts throughout the creation of this project. I knew that surrendering to the negative thoughts could produce dramatic, captivating, but ultimately dark imagery – something I wanted to avoid.

I decided to take control the tone and create a work within the ChiChiLand aesthetic, letting the themes and symbolism of feminist struggle saturate the subconscious process – but never wrestle the creative away from me.
